Kenya is experiencing a wetter than normal season as predicted by the IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Centre – ICPAC – in its season forecast for March to May 2020.

With these rains, experts warn of different challenges, key among them being the possibility of a second wave of desert locusts. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization FAO already warned that rains experienced in the later part of March could boost the breeding of the insects.

In this video experts at ICPAC paint a picture of the season and some of the steps that government and communities can take to safeguard livelihoods.
