Scheduled for 2-3rd June 2021, the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) Africa Digital Conference with the focus on restoring Africa’s Drylands is expected to put the spotlight on tackling issues of land degradation, Climate Change, conflict, and migration.
The Digital conference is expected to host 7,000 attendees with over 90% of them from Africa, featuring 200+ quintessential speakers from various expected fields with rich experiences in the sector.
Youth participation
The conference has been designed with Youth Daily Shows which would give an enabling platform to eight young experts in four interesting interactive sessions as well as a video challenge from the finalists at the event.
This Youth Daily Show would be an effective 30-minute interactive session with young activists, scientists, and restoration practitioners who will showcase successful restoration stories, explore potential youth jobs opportunities in drylands restoration, highlight the amazing role that women play in restoration efforts, and discuss the importance of integrating agroforestry into restoration solutions.
The first-ever digital conference
The Global Landscapes Forum is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform connecting people with a shared vision. Its focus is on sustainable land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement. GLF has connected 7,416 organization’s and 200,000 participants at gatherings in Warsaw, Lima, London, Paris, Marrakech, Jakarta, Bonn, Washington D.C, Nairobi, Katowice, Kyoto, New York, Accra, and Luxembourg, as well as digital conferences on food and livelihood and biodiversity and reached almost one billion people from 185 countries.
GLF is greening Africa through the AFR100 and Latin America through initiative 20×20 and fighting to save the world’s peatlands initiative and its coastal communities through the Blue Carbon partnership.
