Country Kenya.

The reliance on charcoal and firewood as a primary source of cooking for most households puts immense pressure on indigenous trees, which are destroyed to accommodate energy needs.

Destroying trees releases gases into our environment which traps the sun’s heat and greatly hampers earth’s ability to stabilize our climate. The effect of climate disruption comes in the form of unpredictable and extreme weather patterns such as droughts, and floods in all parts of the world, creating resource shortages.

This is a story of how a group of women in Kasigau village, Taita Taveta County in Kenya are involved in forest conservation through the use of alternative sources of energy.
