Marie Anne Dushimimana is a passionate journalist with over 8 years of experience in news reporting and editing. She has worked in various media firms including The New Times which is the only English newspaper in Rwanda. She has worked as a freelancer as well for various local and international media houses.
In her reporting, she focuses on health, environment and climate change issues, including disasters and its management.
Anne is an award-winning journalist. In 2017 and 2018, she was the winner of the Journalism Reproductive Health competition organized by Rwanda Health Initiative (HDI), a nongovernmental organization working on health promotion, precisely on sex, reproductive health and rights.
Currently, she manages The Child Focus while working as Media Editor-in-Chief at Pax Press, a nongovernmental organization working with more than 180 journalists for peace, development, democracy and human rights promotion. Besides, she is the Vice-Chair of Women Media Owners for Change, a Network of Women owning media organs in Rwanda, with the vision of raising woman voice through media, and putting more focus on issues touching women lives at large.
