Many people across the world, particularly those directly impacted by COVID-19 are already suffering from disaster fatigue. Many journalists on the other hand are labouring daily to find new ways to report on the pandemic.
In the midst of all these, disasters caused by natural hazards are also occurring in many parts of the world. Professors Aaron Clark-Ginsberg and Shearon Roberts of the RAND corporation and Xavier University of Louisiana respectively, suggest that ethical disaster reporting can make a difference for communities and policymakers.
